Hippo uses SMS messaging to facilitate secure user authentication.

Consent to Receive Messages

By entering your phone number and initiating a login or verification request, you consent to receive SMS messages containing one-time passwords (OTPs).

Message Purpose

Messages are strictly transactional and include:

  • Login verification codes

  • Account authentication messages

Hippo does not send promotional or marketing messages through this channel.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on user activity (e.g., login attempts).

Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

No Guarantee of Delivery

Hippo does not guarantee timely or successful delivery of SMS messages, as this depends on third-party carrier networks.

4. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

  • Provide accurate phone numbers

  • Maintain confidentiality of OTPs

  • Not share verification codes with others

Hippo is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from user negligence.

5. Security

6. Wallet & Payments

  • Wallet balances and benefits are subject to outlet or property-specific rules

  • Transactions may be processed via third-party payment gateways

  • Hippo acts as a technology platform facilitating these transactions

7. Limitation of Liability

Hippo shall not be liable for:

  • SMS delivery failures

  • Network-related delays

  • Unauthorized access caused by user actions

8. Opt-Out & Support

For SMS-related support:

Since OTP messages are required for authentication, opting out will prevent access to login functionality.

Users may reply STOP to SMS messages where applicable, though this may disable authentication services.

For assistance, users may reply HELP or contact support.

9. Changes to Terms
